This body of work was initially inspired by my experiences in the outdoors growing up in B.C. There was always lots of skiing, fishing, and mountain trips, and looking through my old photographs brings back so many fond memories.
This year I was fortunate enough to take several camping trips to the Fraser Canyon, where I became fascinated with the history of the area, and wondered what it would’ve been like for the people back then.
What was it like to live in B.C. before i was alive?
What were people’s experiences like 100 years ago?
It’s a subject that I could continue painting until I'm 100 years old! I spent some time going to museums, researching areas, and talking to people about their forefather’s experiences. Hopefully my experiences will be as interesting to the following generations. As a result, the paintings in this series are like slices of life from our brief linear timeline, different perspectives of the “goings on” in our supernatural province.
